Works Wonders® is a career development program that addresses the employment readiness needs that foster youth face.
We’re connecting foster youth to meaningful training, paid work experiences, and pathways to employment.
Works Wonders® provides:
Approximately 12 hours of skills training to enhance the career readiness of youth affected by foster care.
12 weeks of one-on-one career coaching with staff employment specialists, and
Paid work-based learning opportunities (like internships, job shadows, and informational interviews).
Are you interested in becoming an employer partner for Works Wonders? We’re excited to welcome you! As an employer involved in Works Wonders®, you can:
Serve as a site for internships, job shadowing, and short-term work based learning experiences
Share your expertise with foster youth interested in your chosen career path
Get support for your team while Foster Forward provides the stipend to foster youth in the Works Wonders® program, depending on type of work commitment
Continue to support your local community and the foster system
Contribute to the professional well-being and personal growth of current + former foster youth
There are several ways to employ foster youth as part of Works Wonders®: Time Limited Work Experiences, Temporary Work Experiences, or Hiring + Retention of PTE/FTE. Many Works Wonders® participants transition into long-term part/full-time employment with employers after establishing a rapport as part of the program.
