February Wrap-up: Celebrating Black History Month and Leaping Forward!

๐ŸŽ‰ As we bid farewell to February, we celebrate the culmination of Black History Month and the rare occurrence of Leap Year, a day that comes once every four years. At Foster Forward, we embrace this extra day with enthusiasm, reflecting on our commitment to empowering foster youth through workforce experiences, financial capability opportunities, stable housing and connections to build supportive relationships. Our efforts connect young individuals with the tools they need to thrive and continue to grow "by leaps and bounds."

This month, we are thrilled to once again share a glimpse into the transformative power of mentorship through our Enterprising Connections pilot in collaboration with the Rhode Island Black Business Association. Tamara Tardy, VP of Athletic Youth Academy & Customer Success Manager at UiPath, recently engaged in a dynamic conversation with Renny Vinas, a college student with aspirations in the field of technology.

Their mentor/mentee relationship, made possible through our Works Wondersยฎ Programโ€™s Enterprising Connections Pilot funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, highlights the importance of having a supportive guide on your journey. As Tamara and Renny illustrate in their insightful exchange, having a mentor who believes in you can propel you forward, making the leap toward your career and life goals much smoother. ๐ŸŒŸ
